I feel a storm brewin'...who cares how much who charges. I'd see Social D no matter what the price was. It said limited seating available. All I know is I got mine, and I plan on getting drunk as hell afterwards.

well from what i've heard (from sources that are actually worth a $hit, being in oc i know some old school dudes that are their friends)...in the 2001 tours SD made about 70 to 90k for each hob show...and i heard they charged atleast 100k for that hootenanny...i'm sure the prices have gone up since then.

NOW, i don't even think it sounds unreasonable seeing as how theyve been around for so long...but heres what i dont understand.

say they did make 70 to 90k each show...where does all that money come from. i mean, thats discluding merch of course. but hob holds about 1200 people...multiply that by 25-30 bucks and yer still not going to reach 70k...and hob has to get some profit out of it, but i dunno. im wondering just where exactly all that cash comes from. if anybody has an idea about this, enlighten my cuz i've always been extremely curious about this, i just don't exactly know the business part of this.

gotxyourxcancer.....I've thought alot about that cuz when they play those long HOB runs, I go to most of the shows. I think when they play those 15-20 shows, the band probably makes like $25-30k a show, making it around $100k a piece for each of the band members after all the shows. I don't know for sure though, I just thought this topic was pretty interesting. Regardless of how much they make, it's not bad for about 25 hours of work!!

as much as 25-30k sounds extremely reasonable...ive heard SD dont play for anything under atleast 50-60k...and its funny considering even that really aint $hit compared to most big namers that have been around for years...but ya gotta consider the difference in venue size too...i dunno

oh ya and uh...dont EVEN TRY to believe that each band member gets an equal cut...the Ness-maester does take more than everyone:::FACT:::

oh yeah....I forgot about that!! But you see my basic point. Someone needs to find one of those contracts on ebay or somethin that says what they get paid, what they want for backstage, and all that. This has got me way curious.

Of course, that's just the STARTING price. Transportation and other expenses come into consideration when trying to book a show as well.

Yeah, I saw that, but I didn't know if that was just clearchannel events or whatever. If Destiny's Child gets $250k, Social D needs to raise their prices! unbelievable......

I think that 25-30K sounds more accurate. You have to consider the fact that HOB makes alot of $$$ from selling drinks. So, they can pay the band what they make off of the ticket sales, and still make a killing from the bar.
